Ayo Potter was born in Cleverly Terrace, Maryland in the projects where he had to begin overcoming hardships from a very young age. He was born into a difficult environment which does not allow people to grow and thrive as they should. Growing up he was faced with tragedy multiple times with the deaths of his closest friends. Not wanting to fall victim to his environment, he turned to music to be his escape. Ever since he was a child, he was interested in playing instruments and learning about music. He took this natural passion and turned it into a career when he started making his own music. He was inspired when he was very young watching Disney Channel and seeing how the music made him and those around him feel. He loved being able to listen to these songs and having them evoke good feelings from him even in his hard times. He decided he wanted to be able to do that for other people too. His true love for music comes from the freedom it comes with. He is inspired by being able to do anything you want with music and there being no barriers or boundaries. Everything he makes is his and his only and that is special to him. He has never felt the need to copy anyone else’s style or try to be like anyone else. He has always found comfort in being himself and being original when it comes to his lyrics and beats. Ayo Potter has released his newest hit “Gunz Anthem” recently and will be releasing new music every Monday.
